Adidas je jedan od glavnih Njemačkih proizvođača sportske opreme, ne samo da proizvodi obuću već i torbe, majice,naočale kao i ostalu opremu za sport. Ime firme potiče od imena i prezimena osnivača "Adi Dassler-a". Jos 1949. uzeo je dva sloga, iz imena "adi" i iz prezimena "das" kako bi nazvao svoje proizovde.
Također postoji i druga verzija značenja ove riječi (ADIDAS) : “All Day I Dream About Sports” što bi u prevodu značilo "Cio dan sanjam o sportu"
